Welcome to the grouperboat.com website, a website concerned with the needs, the opinions and the problems in the world of commercial fishermen, specifically grouper fishermen in the Gulf of Mexico. We invite any and all fishermen, but particularly Gulf of Mexico commercial grouper fishermen, to contribute.
The weather page is intended to help commercial fishermen working in the Gulf of Mexico but has many links that others might also find useful. There are many resources for coastal and high seas forecasts, both text and graphic, as well as buoys with current conditions, tide tables, satellite and radar imaging, even some surface water temp. charts. If you have any favorite weather sites that aren't included here and you believe they would add to the site, please let us know. Check the weather page for information on contributing there.
If you own a grouper boat and would like to have it included on this site we will be happy to make a page and/or album for you and put them up on our Boat Pages. We will also include any boats on the site in the online store, giving you and your crew, as well as your friends and family, the chance to buy merchandise printed with your boat's name inserted in our logo and existing designs. Check the boat section for information on including your own boat.

I will also use some of this space to voice my opinions while inviting other fishermen to do the same. I'll likely do a bit of ranting about the intrusive nature of the government's heavy handed and generally inept handling of our fishery and their dogged determination to put all commercial fishermen out of work and in line at the local food banks. We welcome other opinions and will post any appropriate material on the site in the "rants" section. Check that section for guidelines and information on how to submit your own rant.
